About the Board

The South East Asian PMU Association (SEAPMU) is a regional governing body dedicated to advancing the art, science, and safety of Permanent Makeup (PMU) and semi-permanent micropigmentation. Affiliated with IAMAC, SEAPMU establishes strict hygiene standards, pigment safety protocols, and advanced technique certifications across South East Asia and international markets.

Aim & Objectives

  • Standardize PMU Hygiene & Safety: Implement medical-grade sterilization, bloodborne pathogen safety, and client sanitation protocols across PMU clinics.

  • Pigment & Device Regulation: Promote research into REACH-compliant pigments, safe organic/inorganic formulations, and certified micropigmentation machinery.

  • Skill Upgrading & Masterclasses: Offer certified training modules in eyebrow microblading, lip blush, eyeliner PMU, scalp micropigmentation (SMP), and areola reconstruction.

  • Bridge PMU & Aesthetic Medicine: Foster collaboration between micropigmentation artists and medical aesthetic doctors for safe pre/post-procedure care.

PMU Science & Micropigmentation Research

SEAPMU invites PMU artists, dermal specialists, and pigment chemists to submit technical studies, clinical observations, and case reports.

  • Focus Areas: Pigment retention across Asian skin undertones, allergic reactions and patch testing protocols, PMU laser removal techniques, scalp micropigmentation retention, and medical areola tattooing.

  • Submission Guidelines: Manuscripts must include detailed procedure steps, device/needle configuration notes, pigment brand disclosures, and high-resolution healed results (minimum 3–6 months follow-up).

Membership & Board Opportunities

SEAPMU provides certified artists and educators with regional validation, official accreditation, and leadership pathways.

  • Certified PMU Specialist Member: For practicing artists who pass SEAPMU safety, sanitation, and technical execution assessments.

  • Master Trainer & Educator: Open to senior artists (3+ years experience) who lead accredited training workshops and evaluate junior candidates.

  • Regional Executive Council Member: Selective appointments for industry pioneers shaping PMU safety policies and competition judging criteria across Asian markets
